Very interesting to read about dt suzuki's life and enjoy the marvelous reflective pool. A very meditative spot on a rainy day.

Authorized by the city government, this museum celebrates the life and teachings of D.T. Suzuki, the man who brought Zen Buddhism to the world. Our guide brought us here to experience the museum and even though we aren't museum people, we thoroughly enjoyed it. The...More

A three-room museum, simple and complete, containing one room showing some of the biography, one room with the books he wrote and one room to meditate. Beautiful architecture, absolute zen. One reason to visit Kanazawa!

Tranquil Neutraesque architectural gem provides relaxing and spiritual escape from a crammed sightseeing schedule. As with most Japanese museums I have visited the exhibition design and execution does not attempt to cater to non Japanese visitors. So practice non attachment with regard to the exhibit...More

Beautiful architecture and gardens. There was very little in the way of exhibits or information (in any language). We were not offered an audioguide and only saw this was available when other entrants had one as we were leaving.

We visited the D.T Museum as part of our architectural tour but it’s a beautiful, serene museum that will appeal to everyone. Go in silence and experience it the Zen way! It's walking distance from the 21st Century Museum of Art.... and a must visit...More

Superb, as many other travellers wrote. It's however not so difficult to find and if you don't want to pay 300 yen, you can see most of it from the outside. But ask for the audio guide, it's free and it will help you.

This museum is recommended by an architect friend and it does not disappoint. The architecture reflects Dr. Suzuki's philosophy, transcend the idea about zen and life poetically. A great oasis near the hustle bustle of the 21 Century Museum and the famous garden. This place...More

A quiet meditation of a visit. A celebration of one of the modern philosophers of Buddism. A beautiful but austere building in only the way that Japanese manage to create. Don't miss the gardens outside the building well worth catching.
