What a beautiful sight! As you start to draw closer to the mountain via a coach/ car on a good day you can see it from a distance. I went via a coach excursion which was informative and helpful in highlighting the knowledge of what...More

I love Mt Fuji and have been lucky enough to summit 3 times due to work trips to Japan. The Yoshida trail is the easiest I’ve done and have bullet climbed and stayed at a hut. The hut is worth it if you’ve not done...More

During spring there are flow fields in blossom, but Mount Fuji is always beautiful. The trip up to Mount Fuji is not covered by Japan Railpass, so you have to change trains at Otsuki and pay extra. If you are doing this in a day,...More

We had a fairly foggy day but it cleared enough for us to really appreciate it. If you are going to Japan it really is worth the risk as even with the fog there are still things to see and do.

If you are going to be near Tokyo, it's definitely worth the day trip. Go to the 5th station for $10 and get a great view of lake Kawaguchiko!

I was at first hesitant about booking my trip to Mt. Fuji through “Fuji Mountain Guides” because it seems to be quite expensive for a hike that many do on their own. I particularly was solo traveling during the off season and finally decided to...More

We took a group tour by coach to the 5th station. The day was rainy and foggy. We did not even get a peek of the mountain. The road to the 5th station was winding. Be prepared ahead of time if one is probed to...More

We looked at it from the mountain top at Hakone, from the train, with it's cloudy table cloth on, with it off and every time it was fantastic.

Our day started with a 6.45am bus ride from Shinjuku to Mt. Fuji 5th station, which I have booked in Australia via highway bus site. We reached Mt Fuji 5th station at around 9.30pm in the rain and wind. We followed recommendations from my previous...More

On August 28th we hiked to the summit of Mt. Fuji during the day. I think the hike was very difficult with a lot of rock scramble from the 7th station to the 8th station and again near the rim after the 9th station. Hiking...More

I completely agree with dpbi1992's answer. Mount Fuji is impressive and visible from any area around any of the 5 lakes, if there are no clouds. Views of the city are best captured from the Pagoda.
