Board the train in Livingstone and sip drinks as you journey to the Victoria Falls Bridge in time for sunset. You will get a great view of the Falls and the Boiling Pot, and get wet with spray. The train stays on the Zambia side. Vendors are a bit persistent. After sunset, the train travels back a couple of kilometres... More

Bush Tracks company runs the Royal Livingstone Express, a five course dinner aboard fully restored carriages pulled by a 1920's steam locomotive. It leaves from Livingstone Zambia runs to to the Victoria Falls bridge and returns. We booked months ahead through Wild Horizons and were told no visas would be necessary after we gave our passport numbers. We received our... More

Quick train trip to a bridge to see the Falls, stayed an hour when 15 minutes was more than enough. Lots of wine, which I didn't care about, very mediocre food and a real bore. Google listing says it's a ride through a valley abundant with animals. That's on certain nights, but on others it's just a ride to the... More

Wonderful idea - steam train, fine dining, Victoria Falls, and a toe into Zimbabwe to boot. The trip to the bridge was in a wonderfully elegant carriage with plenty of refreshment, but the line ran alongside the road many had come to their hotels on, and the distance travelled was quite short. The stop the bridge offered great views of... More

From the moment you enter Livingstone, there is the warm and friendly atmosphere. The landscape and countryside lends itself to the pristine and natural beauty of Africa. The Royal Livingstone Hotel is one of a kind and Victoria Falls, Zambia is an experience you will not want to miss. A must see is the Victoria Falls from a flip in... More

You cant go wrong here. Scenery, great dinner and drinks, great staff, AND a historian on board telling tales of Zambian history including Dr Livingstone and early Zambian rail history with the commitment of Cecil Rhodes. A FANTASTIC night. HIGHLY recommended.!!!

We were staying at the fantastic Waterberry Zambezi lodge and the staff there arranged the train trip for us. Impressive and very comfortable carriages with a range of seating and an open observation car. Relaxed atmosphere rather than the 'posh' one we'd feared - not a dicky bow in sight! The man behind it all gave a fascinating talk outlining... More

My son aged 11 did enjoy standing on the ramp in the end of the train. This is a luxury experience with dinner on board. It's 2 hrs time you will spend on the train and the decoration and seating is a royal feeling. Kind of an experience with seperately coach for dinning and worth the experience and the cost.... More

We participated in the Evening Sunset Train Ride onto the Victoria Falls Bridge along with dinner. The train was well appointed and historically detailed, fortunately with modern air conditioning added. The host had provided an excellent history of the country, the area and the development of the railroad. The train ride itself was short but still eventful to be able... More

The train takes you to the middle of the Victoria Bridge where you have possibilities to take photo’s over the falls then go back a bit to the Zambia side and having a 5 course dinner. Service and food are excellent in this “1920” environment. Don’t miss it.
