About
The eight Cham Islands off the Hoi An coastline are perfect for idyllic beach relaxation and exciting water activities. You can also explore the traditional fishing village and the Marine Protected Area. Snorkeling tours are a great choice if you want to appreciate the island’s varied marine life, which includes colorful corals, crustaceans, and endangered fish. With boats leaving multiple times a day from Cua Dai in Hoi An, the islands make for a great day trip. Or, you can stay the night if you want to catch the marvelous sunset over the horizon of the ocean. – Tripadvisor

We were there and stayed overnight on the Island and we did a good choice as most of the day trip from Hoi An are time limited. Cham island is such a pearl if you have time to enjoy it. 5 gorgeous white sand beaches, water is supper clean with no plastic pollution as not allowed by law. We rent a scooter and discover every bit of this Island. At night you can also experience local music performanced by locals.

The islands were beautiful but the tour was a very low standard. We were taken by bus to board the boat. On the way , the bus was stopped by police who checked that the bus company had mandatory insurance for all passengers. It didn’t so we waited on the bus for 40 minutes while the driver complied with the law. We were given life jackets on the boat, but they were poorly fitted and some very worn and mouldy. Once one the island, we went ashore to wander around the village for an hour which was not really picturesque. The islanders had food, clothing and trinkets which they tried selling. Nothing special, just the same as in Hoi An. We were then taken to a location for snorkeling, a very small area with quite a few boatloads of people already there. Snorkels and masks were handed out, people tried them on and where they didn’t fit, they were just passed to the next person to fit. No cleaning between times. I don’t think they understood about spreads disease through saliva. There was no coral to see, all dead and very few sea creatures. After an hour, we pulled into a beach for lunch. There were tables and chairs on the beach under the trees which was quite charming. The lunch was very good, however the monkeys had to be continually chased from above us. In the end they won out buy the tourist feeding them which resulted in the monkeys becoming quite aggressive. All in all, a lovely location, but very little thought given to the safety of the tourist and the promise of viewing coral and sea creatures was not possible.

The cheap public ferry is only available for locals, tourists have to travel with expensive speedboats. They demand 90 000 dong entrance and cleaning fee. I dont know what they use it for because the beaches arent clean. Some beaches even demand entrance fee. Also, the lower half of the island is a military zone and most corals are dead.

Did a tour of Cham Island. Van picked me up from my accommodations at Bel Marina @ 8AM. Dropped us off at the Cau Dai pier for a ride in a speed boat. Toured around a few places on land. Then another boat took us out for swimming + snorkeling. The coral was beautiful. Afterwards a beach front lunch. The lunch was huge + delicious! Spent some time @ the beach with lounge chairs + umbrellas.

A fantastic get away on an island that is peaceful and quite untouched. I didn’t know what to expect as the diving in Nha Trang wasn’t great. However, we were very pleasantly surprised by the water quality and the number of different species of fish. The island is small but has everything you need.

We stayed with Bai Huong homestays. Wonderful place to stay away from the crowds on a beautiful beach. Comfortable small rooms with air conditioning and mosquito nets.
Delicious food. Basically a great experience for our family of 5.
You can find them at homestay baihuong and Tony is so helpful. He booked our ferry tickets, collected us from the pier and took us snorkelling

A great day trip. Sadly the reef is sunbleached and not in great condition, but it was a refreshing swim and still plenty of sea life.

For all of you out there, thinking about going to cham Island and read the Bad reviews about the day Trips.... Just stay here and don't do the mad mass touristic stuff.
The island is amazing, so cosy and absolutely everyone is so friendly and do everything for you that you have a great time.
The beaches are unbeliebable, you can go around the island by a scooter, rent snorkeling stuff and go on your own, sitting in a beach bar or just enjoy great and fresh seafood. Or you just sit on the beach and watch monkeys play the whole day.
We were here for 4 days and could stay 1 or 2 more.
So please everyone out there, complain about the island, just complain about yourself that you just did a Bad touristic trap thing.
The island was the best thing we did in Vietnam so far.
