The Hoi An Silk Village, officially opened in August 2012, is based on the ancient silk weaving traditions of Quang Nam province that used Hoi An as a commercial seaport for over 300 years. Located down the street from Hoi An's town center, the Silk Village offers an experience like no other. During the tour you'll learn about the entire production of silk from silkworm to dress. We also have a spacious restaurant serving up local delights and a high-end silk showroom where you can have custom garments designed.

Incredible handicraft!

We took the tour to see everything from worm to cloth. The process is truly remarkable, and the way it is still done using the same technique is impressive! Well worth a visit!

This was a nice surprise. The silk village was recommended to us as a good place to take kids and it really is. The guide we had was lovely and the children really enjoyed learning about the silkworms, watching the cocoons unthreaded and the spinning, feeling the different threads and fabrics, the weaving process etc. The mulberry juice was a... I took several 4 hour tours in Hoi An, and this one may well have been my favorite. The grounds of the Silk Village were gorgeous, they have an attached hotel, spa, and restaurant. The tour included a complete explanation of how silk is made, both historically and now. There were some fun hands-on parts, and it was neat to... More

Reception at our hotel suggested we visit the Silk Village as they thought our children would find it interesting. We walked out to it but took a taxi back! We were met at the gate and asked if we would like to have a tour. We weren't keen to do this but were very glad we said yes. The boys... More

We had a great guide who met us in Hoi An and took us just 5 minutes away to the village...The tour was very informative, our guide was very passionate and full of interesting facts and very encouraging for us to try every step. We didn't know we would get to be so involved and it definitely makes you appreciate... More

This was a great tour although felt a little awkward at times. Our pick up was on time and welcoming. On arrival at the Hoi An Silk Village Resort and Spa (don't be expecting a old village setting), we were seated in the bar waiting area and presented with a glass of mulberry juice. Unaware of what to expect, we... More

This is one of the best tours we have been on in Hoi An. The tour itself was very informative but the best part was that we were actually allowed to give things a try. There were some lovely people there who were willing to teach us the process of not only getting silk but how it is weaved into... More

We were really wondering how good this would be. It was well worth the 45 minute tour with an interesting guide. We could see the silk worms, cocoons weaving on the hand looms and more modern. We had a lovely morning in the shaded buildings. Ended with an iced mulberry drink.
