Going all the way up the lighthouse is good to take pictures and experience some strong Rio de la Plata wind. Some good pictures can be taken up there, but the way up can be rather tiring for senior people and those who are not...More

There is not a great deal to do in Colonia, but this is quite nice. I wouldn't go crazy abut it - it is what it is - a view of a small pretty town from a lighthouse.

The walk up is more than 100 winding steps, so if you're in good shape, it's fine....otherwise, take it slow. Stairs are very narrow. The view is worth it...gorgeous from the top.
