If you are going to attend the religious Whirling Dervish ceremony try one that is authentic. This one is and is very well explained. It was fascinating watching the priests move in and out of their trance while they danced. Very moving. Forget what you've...More

If you are looking for a narrated entertainment this is not the experience for you. This event allows a visitor the opportunity to observe Sufi Muslims practicing a religious rite. It is akin to attending mass; beautiful and moving, but not intended to be mainstream...More

This show on a cold March night was a calming revelation against the hustle and bustle of our tour. We watched the show which at one time was a religious ceremony but now is a meditation route for the men. There was a quiet dignity...More

Originally it's a Seljuck Caravanserai from 1200's, built on the silk road. Located just outside of Avanos village, it's one of the most preserved caravanserais in the region. There is a summer section and winter (indoor) section, as well as a small coffee shop and...More

Though some will think differently but for me and my family it was a spiritual and cultural experience to witness. Spiritual and mystical journey that one learns from reading the provided brochure and the web; the Sema ceremony filled my mind with how, why, what...More

I thought this Whirling Dervish evening would just be a hokey-for-the-tourist-show, and maybe it is, but it's really beautiful an very moving. If you've never done one, try it. And this is done in the fantastically restored Saruhan Carevanserai which is worth seeing anyway.

A really "staged" experience which was vastly over-hyped. Whirling Dervishes? more like slowly spinning. no atmosphere - we expected much better.

I wouldn't waste your time on it. This is not a dance show, it is a ceremony which is overpriced at €25 for maximum 45 minutes. Only three whirling dervishes and it is quite repetitive, I couldn't get out fast enough. No introduction to the...More

Do yourself a favour and don't go if you are looking for a dance show. It's not. Only go if you have read and studied about the ceremony and know what it is that you are going to experience. Only then will you truly appreciate...More

I believe it was about 8 PM. The hotel will arrange for pick up and return for you. I think the shows are only in the evening. It can be cool so take jacket.
