It was the most disappointing visit of our tour of turkey. We had to make a long walk and pay ticket just to see an empty room with a few pictures.

We walked in to see this church which is a fair distance from the road only to find it shut and it appears as though it has been for awhile.

Unfortunately for us, the church was locked and closed when we visited, but we really enjoyed the short hike out to see it. We were there late afternoon in December 2012 and weren't sure why it wasn't open. We were able to take some beautiful exterior photographs and the surrounding landscape is fabulous. We also met a precious dog that... More

A short walk off the road to the museum to find this church. Well-marked path. Frescos are well preserved and church has a different design. Unsure why there is a 5 TL charge, but the guy was there when we visited, unlike for some other churches that are locked.

Not the best, but definitely worth going to. And there are guard dogs, how cute is that? Very. The paintings on the inside are a but lost, but it is really nice.

Very small church between Goreme and the Open Air Museum. Simple and lovely. Good condition. Walls still clear. There was a concierge with key who let us in and showed us round so not sure if he's there all the time, he also seemed to be a tour guide.

This is the Church of the Evil Eye and it is a quiet, infrequently visited site only 10 minutes walk from the main road to the museum from Goreme. Simply follow the signs. We appreciated the opportunity to have an unhindered look around at a place under restoration, and even though the frescoes are not up to the standard of... More

Of the many, many beautiful cave churches in Cappadocia, this one has not been restored on the inside and the frescoes are very damaged. From the outside it looks like a gnome cottage and stands alone in the valley where it is. You can give this one a miss with no problem. Many others are far more beautiful.

It is close to city center, heading one of the valleys called "Semi Valley", about 10 minutes walking, so you get to the office where you can purchase the ticket. I don't recall how much was it but it was cheap anyway. There are nice and well preserved frescoes in this Church what make it a wonderful sight.
