Welcome to Middle Earth Travel... We are the trekking, hiking, walking, climbing outdoors and archeology guides of Turkey. We are based in Cappadocia, a very special region which resembles a magical fairy tale land. The remains of the millions years ago volcanic eruptions, shaped by the wind and rain for thousands of years, have formed one of natures most spectacular masterpieces: Strange rock formations, called: "fairy chimneys". Beautifully coloured valleys full of these 'fairy houses' have been a fantastic stage for some of the most important actors of known history, some of which are the Hittites, The Persians, Alexander the Great, Romans, Byzantines and Ottomans. Many of these caves are still decorated with icons and wall paintings from the early Christian times.

Middle Earth travel and their guide Hami added a huge amount of value to our short two day trip to Cappadocia. We did two longish treks, which took us off the beaten track and into seldom seen places in the valleys of Cappadocia. There's a difference between visiting somewhere and seeing somewhere. We all felt we'd been given a great... More

I came on my own to do a five day mountain bike trip in Capaddocia having found the trip via Google. I have done trips like this in Spain, France, Morocco and Slovenia. The trip with Middle Earth Travel was undoubtedly the best. Our guide, Hami Bek was knowledgeable, able to judge the skills and fitness of our group of... More

We have just returned from an amazing Aegean Luxury self-guided 8 day cycling tour. We are three middle aged women (age range 50 to 61) of differing fitness levels and cycling abilities. Our wonderful guide Sinan assessed our capabilities and tailored the tour so that each of us had the right balance of cycling (some challenging hills), walking, or travelling... More

This is the first time I have done a group tour and it was beyond my expectations. Our guide, A Özgür Tepe (Ozzie) and our driver Hasan, did everything in their power to ensure we had a fabulous hike. Ozzie was very knowledgeable about the history, culture and terrain of the area and Hasan was always there to transport our... More

We own a mountain biking company in Bali (Bali Rides), which is rider and service focused. We've now found another mountain biking company that provides the same level of high service. Our Guide, John, was highly knowledgeable about Turkey, spoke the language, gauged the group's experience and gave us a cracker tour to match our riding ability. The tour was... More

My fiancé and I booked on this trip to escape work, visit a part of the world we had not been before and get some exercise, this trip ticked all of these boxes and much, much more! Selecting the supported self guided tour we were met by the wonderful Sinan, who for a week was our bike guide a cultural... More

What a fantastic cycling holiday! With help from Jon, we tailored a South-Aegean tour which began with an airport pick up by our wonderful guide, Sinan, in Izmir and ended six days later when he dropped us off at Dalaman airport. Each day of cycling took us to a new and unique landscape – from the mountains, to the river... More

My wife and my self booked a selfguided MTB tour with Middle Earth Travel and just to make it short: It exceeded by far our yet high expectations! Logistically everything worked out as described, the team was flexible enough to add two additonal days to the standard tour, the hotels/lodges where at fantasticlocations and very much our taste and last... I booked the day hike of Ihlara Valley as I was looking for something different than the typical packaged bus tours. The day tour featured a hike of the 14km Ihlara Valley and ended at Selime Monastery. There was an optional add-on of an underground city, we went to Derinkuyu. Our guide for the day was Hami and he was... More
