The Muradiye Complex is one of the eight different location services which make up the World Heritage Site called Bursa: The Birthplace of the Ottoman Empire. For us, it was also the final stop on a day-long walking tour which started at Emir Sultan and went via the major historical sites in the city. This place was magnificent and ended... More

A very impressive mosque with numerous nooks and crannies. Although called the green mosque the tiles have a more bluish colour. The other colour used is cream. The tiles are magnificent, trumped only possibly by those in the princes' circumcision room at the Topkapi palace.

Only the mosque was open but it is still worth while to visit. I have seen quite a few mosques but never similar to this one. The fact that I was the only visitor made it extra special.

Built in 1366, this Mosque is the only structure within the Ottoman architecture designed as a two floor building including a Mosque and madrassah. This Mosque was easy access for us as it was situated next to the hotel that we stayed at (Kadi Konagi Thermal Hotel).
