Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I visited this location over 20 years ago. There was a cafe at the top. this time I found very interesting historic information about Hammamet. Alas it is in Arabic and French only. how difficult is it to create downloadable sound/pdf files in other languages ? Luckily, I found someone who can read Arabic they translated it for me

The tower of Hammamet is worth a visit. It is a shame that the excellent displays regarding the history of the Medina is in French and Arabic

Terrifying experience. As others have said, the vendors are extremely pushy and will not let you leave once you are inside without spending your money. We had vendors shouting and swearing at us that we had not spent money in their shop but had in others. I left feeling very shaken and didn’t leave the hotel for the rest of the holiday. It ruined our experience of Tunisia and I will not be going back.

Not a great deal to see inside, the only descriptions of the history were in Arabic and French so if you can’t read either of those you won’t get much of an idea of what the place is about. When I visited it looked like a lot of repair work was going on and several parts were closed. There are great views over the beach and town from the top which made it worthwhile and there is a nice cafe up the top as well.

We walk around the old fortress walls every time we come to the Medina at Hammamet. They are a wonderful part of the history of the city and make lovely photos.
The entry fee to visit inside the walls is a little steep at 8 Dinars per person. However there is probably a good view from the rampart walls if you are tempted to pay the entry fee.

Located in old Hammamet this is worth spending some time visiting. You pay 8 dinar to enter the old fort if you like a bit of history and culture go and visit.

Getting a taxi was a complete bun fight. Don't bother queuing or being polite, you just have to go for it passengers are getting.g out ot you are in fir a very long wait!

A kind of basic fortress. You have to pay a fee(8 dinars,if I remember well) to visit it.But,what a surprise, there's (almost) nothing to see inside.Anyway, you won't regret your money because after you climb to the stone walls you'll have some wonderful views of the town and the sea.In one of the highest point is placed a small cafe.Nice location, unfortunately they sell only non alcohoolic drinks. What a shame...

Would have loved to look at the shops but as soon as you do you are bombarded by the vendors who will not back off until you and your money part company
