An artificial neighborhood, consisting of a modern entertainment medina and a variety of cafes/ restaurants. Do not expect to find authentic atmosphere. On the other hand, the beach is gorgeous. We visited over Christmas and the whole town was somewhat deserted.

You are able to get relaxed in Hammamet. Which area is 1 hour distance by highway from Tunis. Hotels are big, good and tidy. Sea is good. So touristic area. It has shopping centers; good restaurants; coffe shops.

A Pharaonic effort, Dubai style, to give the resort depth and breadth. Not to everyone's taste but I like the effort to reproduce ancient times, the Carthage of old, with walls, a Medina, theme parks, hotels for a wider range of customers.
