Alexandria Bay and the Thousand Islands is a very different time in the winter, but it is still beautiful. I had to go up there last weekend, and the scene is very different; most the stores and restaurants are seasonal, so they are not open. There are a couple places on the main roads of the town(s) that are open,... More

If you love boating and nature and natural beauty, this is the place for you! I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to 1000 Islands. It was so relaxing taking boat tours and seeing the islands. I would love to live here and own my own boat! I was really impressed with the town of Sackets Harbor - it was beautiful! I... More

Lovely if you enjoy solitude, nature and serenity. Really gorgeous and natural. If you are Big City Gritty, this is not your atmosphere.

If you love to be on the water and tour the islands, it is a nice place to visit. From your own boat or a tour boat you view many islands, some small, some large but all interesting to view. KP

Alexandria Bay is a very quaint little town in the scenic Thousand Islands area along the border of NY and Canada. Alex Bay is the jumping off point to both Singer and Boldt Castle, both muse see locations. Nice shopping area for souvenirs, ice cream, and home made chocolates.

We took a boat ride up and down the st. Lawrence River and got to see all the different Islands what a nice place. The kids had a great time riding on the boat although this time of year I was kind of a little on the chilly side but we really enjoyed it

I was so excited to vacation in the Thousand Islands with my husband one week this August - What. A. Disappointment. Our friends and family raved and raved about Alexandria Bay, so that is where we based ourselves. We stayed at an airbnb (horrible, but that's another story), received TERRIBLE customer service in nearly every restaurant we went to, and... More

This is the second time we have taken a bout tour of Thousand Islands. Each in a different direction. OPnce from Cananda and once from the US side. Both were in the autumn. The area is spectacular, peaceful, and no wonder so many mult-millionaires have built fabulous homes here. Our tour guide on Uncle Sam's Tour was very informative for... More

Located on the St Lawrence River between NY and Canada, there are over 1800 islands located here. Try to take a boat tour;
