We accessed this beach from a small road off the main Patong to Kara road. The access road is steep and unpaved so be careful. Near top was a few other scooters so we parked up and paid 200 bhat to the guys at the hut. Then a seriously steep decent down to the most beautiful beach I've seen. I'd... More

With all the motorboats and seadoos in the water along with the cruiseliners the waters are becoming polluted. I guess business trumps nature.

We aren't into the touristy & overcrowded beaches and wanted to do a long tail boat ride while in Thailand and this trip to Freedom Beach hit the spot! The trip on the longtail was about 15 minutes and they drop you off right by the shore. The beach has little to do but relax on the sand or in... More

We went for a quick stroll down Bangla Rd after a meal one nite. It's like a party carnival atmosphere but if you don't like people getting in your face with offering everything imaginable this is not a place for you. We did have a few drinks in one of the bars and I was amazed at how the ladyboys... More

We took the boat to reach the beach and it was lovely. Still untainted by mass tourists with lots of native trees and flowers. The beach is clean, peaceful.

A perfect morning We took a long tail boat from our hotel which was the amari. Lovely sand and water to bath in. We had to return via boat on order to not be at low tide
