The old walls still remaining around Chiang Saen pop up in various amounts, and places. Further west towards Mae Sai where the three countries meet, great local restaurants and neat market area make this area worth a trip from Chiang Rai.

Chiang Saen, moreover known as the Golden Triangle, is the three country point (Myanmar - Laos - Thailand). This area, including the (old) city Chiang Saen is worth your visit. Take your time to enjoy the stunning views and the ancient area of Chiang Saen.
