The village was not poor as I expected. There are new houses there. Life has been improved. I could not see there was any opium or other drug evidence left.

The trip there is half the fun on the winding, up and down roadway. My advice is to get a local driver who knows those roads like the back of his hand. Truth be told we spent very little time in the town, but the...More

The whole village seems to be focused on tourists. Still the market is a nice stroll and their is a couple of good yunnan restaurants. The Oolong tea we tasted at some stall was good and there are some tea plantations one can visit near...More

Although the road is quite scary with lots of sharp curves, it's worth a visit if you're nearby. I'd recommend to go during winter as you may spot some sea of mist. Also, Yunnan food is a must to try.
