We decided to visit the park on the recommendation of a friend, it is quite close to Hua Hin, so decide to make a day of it. The drive is very nice, Upon leaving the main highway the road meanders up the mountain and will take you through farmland and temples that are well worth stopping and exploring. Eventually reaching... More

Only 3hrs driving from Bangkok, a proper 4WD is required for deeply access. It's home of many wildlife and possibly Thailand's top birds and butterflies watching location. Also good for watching Milky Way and morning mist.

It was very pleasant to discover a part of this national park. I saw only the water fall area until level 5 which was the last level opened to the public. very quiet and almost refreshing comparing to the heat of Thailande. Make sure you wear proper shoes. For my part I had tennis shoes and plastic shoes to go... More

We spent a great time here enjoying a boat trip at the dam seeing birds and monkeys. A chilled river ride where we could stop for swimming. There are tracks at the National Park that we will explore next time. It is easy to find a hotel here close to the National Park. Not a hot spot for tourists.

We went to see our friends at Kaeng Krachan. They took us to the top of the mountain to see the fog at 6 am. The road was unpaved. The views were amazing. It took us four hours for the trip. We also visited the beautiful lake after the mountain.

We visited this gorgeous park for three full days. We were looking for birds but also had monkeys and butterflies. We used trucks to reach the top as our vans were not allowed past a certain point. We had our own guides so I do not know if local guides were available or good. The park is lovely, the climate... More

Covering almost 3000 square kilometres and having its western boundary along the border with Myanmar, Kaeng Krachan has some of the richest wildlife among the Thai national parks. It has over a dozen villages occupied by the Karen people, some who have been residents for many generations. The park has substantial populations of elephants and gaur (a magnificent species of... Great adventure and immersion into the jungle. Couple of important hints. You need to arrive before 730am to be allowed to drive up to the top of the mountain. If you miss that window you need to wait till 1pm again. Drive all the way up pass the view points and to the end of the road. Than take 5... More
