After negotiating the park entrance (which always takes much longer than it should), and the scenic drive through the forest to the museum, we walked for half a day into and around the crater, and had a picnic at the view point on the east side. Amazing day!

Our first day of Safari was in Tarangire and before going to the Crater we stayed the night at Ngorongoro Farmhouse -- which blew our minds. It's a 5 star luxury resort with amazing food (and decent wine selection!) with breathtaking views. We drove an hour the the Crater the next morning. The landscape around the Crater was completely different... More

We only had 4 hours to spend here but we saw so much. We had already been to 3 other parks but it was here that we saw the rhino.

We had a great time with Bright African safaris and spent a day in the crater. We saw it all there but certainly combine with a trip to the Serengeti

If you want to see nature, this is the place to be. It's as if Noah's Ark lives on in the Crater. One must have a guide to fully appreciate all the animals since the guide will explain and teach you.

We went here on our own in a small 4x4 - the roads are rough but quite manageable. We had the place to,ourselves and quite frankly preferred to the much hyped bigger famous craters.

This park is a very nice with lots of wildlife. The over look that preceded the actual entry into the park grounds is breathtaking. You see the large caldera and the animals from a bird's eye view. You are required to ride in an enclosed vehicle on specific roads, unlike most of the Serengeti. This limits your ability to get... More
