I visited it twice, night and day. I liked seafood restaurants that are on both sides of the street and the prices are very low. I liked and gray sand beach; I have never seen this color sand. The huge hall with seafood and dried fish is impressive. And all vendors, to give you a taste of everything. Nice people.

The island is only a five minute slow ferry ride from the mainland. You should **definitely** hire a bicycle for the day -- either from SiZuWan train station (half price) or from the vendors on the island -- Cijin island is very spread out and quite long. That said the attractions aren't very, erm attractive, probably the best one for... More

A short ferry trip from Kaohsiung's main island is Cijin Island. We rented a twin electric bike on the island for twd200 an hour and rode around exploring different parts of the island. We were there on Monday and lots of places were closed such as the museums and some food places so do take note when planning a trip.... More

Been there thrice. Seafood restaurants selling average price meals. Street vendors, a temple, and beach with many bicycles for rental. If I din remember wrongly, about NT400 for a 4 man ride for just an hour. We chose to just walk around. You can venture further but usually I just walked till the building that sells cuttlefish n dry stuffs... More

We took the MRT from Formosa station to Sizihwan station and then the 25NT ferry crossing to Cijin island. The ferry journey was barely 5 minutes as we landed on a pier that lead to a village centre. The Tianhou temple dominates the village centre and further down the road is a string of seafood restaurants. We rented an electric... More

Visited in winter so may be the reason it was quiet. Families like to picnic near beach. Gentle stroll from end to end one way takes about 1/2-1hr, but you can hire a bicycle (multi riders) at the markets near the Gushan Ferry end. There were surfers out in the water but not many waves. Market not very exciting, mainly... More

This is such a good escape from the city and easily accessible via public transport (subway and ferry.) Leave yourself plenty of time to get back at the end of the day because it can take a while to catch the ferry back to Kaohsiung if you're leaving late at night with everyone else. And don't be scared to try... More

Only 10 minutes from Kaohsiung city by ferry was the small island of Cijin (Qijin). I really enjoyed walking through its small roads which were full of street food, games. The beach was not as beautiful as in Kenting, but still could feel relaxing atmosphere. The rainbow arch church should not be missed too. In overall, it was worth to... More

It takes about 5mins ferry ride (cost of TWD25 per pax) to reach the island. There are few seafood restaurants at reasonable pricing and taste quite good. We rented bicycles and toured the island at our own pace for about 2 hours. Good experience to relax and take pictures while exploring the island. There are some attractions like the lighthouse... The island is just a short 10 min ferry crossing. There are many seafood restaurants on the islands. Inexpensive n fresh seafood. If you like to take photos, do not miss the lighthouse Also the Big Bowl shaved ice is a must try. The shop is located near the pier.
