After work I wanted to explore and this was a good option. I parked in a garage across the street...was free. Alot to see and take in, very informative and nice easy walk around.

Lots to see and do here - plenty of exhibits to interest all types. Covers lots of New York State history with big focus on nature. Don't miss out on the old carousel - it's on a different floor, but the kids love it!

This museum captures the essence of New York State and more. There are cityscapes, including the original set for Sesame Street. There is too much to describe here but don't miss the realistic mockup of a scene in the Adirondack Forest...so cool. People of all...More

This is a great museum with all sorts of exhibits detailing history in Albany and New York state. Each section has a lot of relics that add to the exhibits. The mastodon skeleton was interesting to see. Also, the 9/11 exhibit was fascinating and heartbreaking....More

This is an overlooked attraction in the Capital area. The museum as great exhibits. True, its not as big as the mega museums you'd find in NYC but who gets to see all of that anyway?

This is a very neat and tidy museum that isn't of such grand scale that it intimidates. In other words, you won't get sore feat. There's a touching 9-11 memorial and a good history of NYC exhibit. Definitely worth a visit.
