Small but worth visiting!
Jun 2019
The Meiri family are a 6-generation Tzfat family who also own a boutique cheese factory near this museum. Their family pictures and the pictures and artifacts of their friends and neighbors throughout the years from approx. 1837 through the early and middle 1900s are in this museum. There are some rooms designed similarly to how real rooms might have looked and samples of clothing worn by real people over the years. There is furniture, household utensils and machines, and other daily life artifacts that give a visitor the feeling that he/she has become part of Tzfat's history. This is an intimate, smaller museum, but you can easily spend 1-2 hours exploring it.

Wonderful way to get to know Tzfat's history
Jun 2019 • Solo
Note: Museum closes early on Tuesdays (as does pretty much every other tourist attraction in Tzfat). This is a multi-floor building with pictures, clothing, furniture, tools, household utensils and appliances, and much more from the 1800s through the early state of Israel. There are recreations of rooms and stories about old Tzfat and the many outstanding personalities who lived there. There are gorgeous views from the roof balcony too. This place is a must if you want to get a feel for the more modern history of Tzfat (not the kabbalistic history or the ancient history).

This museum tells with many objects and by its own history and founder, the facinating story of Safed throughout the 19 and 20 Centuries.
Definitly worth a visit.

A fascinating glimpse into the life of Safed from 1850 - 1950
Nov 2016 • Family
A magnificent estate overlooking majestic Mount Meron, the Meiri museum houses a series of exhibits and rooms that depict the modest yet fulfilling lives of the heroic pioneers that arrived in Safed from the poor Russian and European shtetl (small villages) to build the modern state of Israel. Located just a 5 minute walk down the stone staircase from Safed's beautiful artist colony shops, the Meiri House (Beit HaMeiri) Museuum is well worth a one hour visit.

Views are amazing!

Don't miss this opportunity to get a close up look at how Tzafat's community has grown and changed. Tons of artifacts and one of the most incredible terraces in the neighborhood! Be prepared to climb stairs and wind through tight rooms.

Old-style museum of the history of Safed
Mar 2016 • Couples
Safed seems seems like a town that time passed by and this museum is no different. If you like places that look like they were outfitted in the 1950's you'll love this. It has quite a range of exhibits including a reconstruction of a one-family room from the beginning of the 20th century

The house tour was interesting and the family story is unique, and worth telling.
The cheese factory is also nice, and the cheese is great.
