Looking for pottery for my shop. It was to expensive since they didn't really do wholesale or have any means of distribution to my shop. Shipping would would make the price point to high for my customers. The pieces they have are very beautifully done.

Scott's art is wood fired. Do yourself a favor and read about the process. Each individual piece is so very special. The studio has a wonderful energy. Scott and the other artists hanging out in the studio were very kind. I cannot wait to return to Taos just to see Scott and friends!

My sister took me to Scott Rutherford's Rottenstone Pottery for the first time in 2012. What a find. Scott is a talented potter who is hospitable and friendly. My sister has Scott's dinner plates, serving pieces, and wine cups (we call them thumb cups after the thumb indentations). I now have 20 cups, and 6 of my friends have multiples... More

Genuine, very talented artists show here. Variety of pieces, reasonable priced. The potters answer all your questions. Zero pressure to buy. It's like a free tutorial. Walk across the street for great coffee and ice cream. The town is tiny and the views are spectacular. So don't miss it.

The proprietor took the time to show our children how he created some of this work. The finished products are lovely!

We had a great visit at the Rottenstone Pottery and enjoyed talking with the owner, Scott. His pottery is quite nice, the shop is very interesting (inside and out), and we enjoyed the crosses and other pieces by Pablo Flores who recycles with great talent. We now enjoy one of his retablo crosses in our home.

We Arrroyo Seco to visit a Rottenstone Pottery. We were not disappointed. Inventory was a bit low but we found coffee mugs and wine cups to buy. At the time there were 7 artist wares for sale with one artist manning the shop. Best time to visit would be late April or late Sept right after the latest firings. Right... More

I stayed in Taos for about 2 weeks and visited Arroyo Secco and found Rottenstone Pottery. I loved his pottery and that his studio is on-site. Best of all I came home with some awesome glass ware and have made them my permanent wine glasses. Every time I drink out of them I remember this place, the town and New... More
