Local beach, white sand. Lots of seaweed on the beach as well on your feet when walking in the sea. Lots of loose plastic floating in the water. From shampoo sachets, to cooking oil packaging. You can grab kilo's in an hour. Nice 'beruga' to sit at. (Like small huts on the beach). Beautiful bay. Lots of local vendors

Amazing white sand beach in Kuta area. So peaceful, very clean and too many people. Free parking area at some cafes around the beach.

I went here for my summer holiday. Due to Covid 19, the beach was very empty. The scenery was extremely beautiful and I like the color of the sea. Btw, Tanjung Aan beach is in the same location with Bukit Merese 😍😍😘

Could easily spend all day here. Super soft and white sand, crystal clear waters, ambient temperature and no real waves, so you could relax easily in the water.
Lots of different warungs offering food and drinks (but more western than local when it comes to prices). You can pay a small fee to use the sun beds, or free if you buy from the warungs.

Almost all other beaches habe waves so hard to swim in. Except the main Mandalika beach but thats not a nice beach at all.
So if you looking for chilling out at a perfect beach, good music and safe swimming, then go to Warung Turtle which is located in the middle of the beach, and enjoy your day.
He doesnt charge you for the chair like almost everybody else does, and they dont push and bother you like almost all others do as well.
He is the first one who started a warung on this beach.
Go there NOW since this whole beach is already sold to big time investors to build big ugly hotels - and when that happens we small people are not allowed there anymoore.
Enjoy it while it lasts...wont be much longer...

We had a great couple of days lazing at Warung Turtle on Tanjung Aan Beach. About 15 minutes by car from Kuta. IDR 10000 to park your car or scooter all day and under cover. The beach was very clean and the sand soft and white. Not too busy in January as low season. We got 2 beach chairs and a beach shack. Nice cold drinks from Warung Turtle and lovely food. Lots of people selling stuff but you don't have to buy anything, just a pleasant " No Thankyou." I didn't feel pestered at all. There are lots of dogs roaming around but they didn't bother us. Lots of surfers heading out to the reef but a really beautiful beach for swimming.

After a quiet day at Mawan beach, we thought we'd see what Tanjung Aan beach had to offer. The view is lovely but up close there is rubbish and plastic everywhere. Parking mafia are to be expected for around Rp 10k per bike per entry. We found Simple cafe to be great food and a nice place to sit. Free beach umbrella and lounges if you're eating there. It is located to the left of the opening in the walled section (turn right as you come in from the road and park under the shady tree) and there wasn't too much weed in the water in that section. Good selection of food at very reasonable prices.
I wasn't a fan of the beach in general, and we scouted around a few parts of this bay. Perhaps if local people come together to clean up the beach more regularly, and dispose of rubbish properly, I'd be more inclined to return.
