The 17 Island Park were awesome! They had nice snorkel spots, plenty of beach, telletubies-hill-style mainland Flores view, and Bat Island (Pulau Kelelawar). The price was 400k for a boat/day, with addition of 50k/person for snorkel kit rent and 70k/person for lunch in deserted beach (local tourist rate). Better to stay in Riung one day in advance thus you can... More

Riung is a small fishers town from which you can go to the 17 Islands. We stayed at Cafe Del Mar for one night and then camped on the islands. The people where really friendly and they played some nice raggea music at Cafe Del Mar! Ask for Armando to organise a camping on the islands. He was very helpful... More

When you plan a trip to Riung definitely have a daytrip snorkling in the Unesco islands. That said, the islands offer a nice view but not that spectacular as we expected reading the lonely planet. Snorkling is nice, visibility is good but sometimes fuzzy when the sea is rough. The coral is rapidly declining alas.

This village is quite small - 2 streets,~4 accomodation options, ~3 restaurants and a market. If you are short on time it is not an essential stop as it is quite far out of the way, but if you can spare a couple of days it is well worth the visit. 17 Islands national park is amazing, one of the... Riung is a nice quite fisherman village. Not much action or things to do. You can go on a boat trip to the islands and that's it. If you like to have some peace and quiet and just be of the grid for a few days, this is the perfect to be. Bring a book.

Quiet place, not as famous or crowded as Labuan Bajo. But still it has their own attractions. I was arrive at 4.30 pm so it's kinda late, but we manage to see "Kalong" or u can said it as bats. It's massive, too many and too awesome for me to watch. Jaw dropping experiences for sure

If you go trough riung to get to the 17th island you can make a pleasant stay at the Bintang hotel. It's a family place, with clean rooms and nice atmosphere. Walking around is possible early morning or after sunset it's so hot.

If you stop to Riung you should definitely book a boat trip. There are 17 islands, you will not do everything but you will not regret it. The place is just amazing. Lots of colours under the sea: it's like a piece of art. Fishes are beautiful, you will see every shape, every colours and every kind !! Watch out... More

Absolutely amazing coral and fish! If you have the time, it's worth the detour. The grilled fish was also amazing.
