The building is Dutch Colonial style. The ornament and interior are beautiful. It also displays lots of photos and few videos from the Dutch invasion era. I really love the great documentation. What they can improve is the human resources administering the Lawang Sewu. Also the customer service can be better.

Lawang Sewu was a Railway Office Building during the Dutch era. The railway passing in front of the building is already replace by a regular street. The name Lawang Sewu (means : building with thousands of doors) doesn't mean the building has 1000 doors, but to say the building has many doors. Visiting Lawang Sewu, is an educational visit to... Semarang is rich with history , apart from looking at some photos of Semarang in the past, and Dutch architectures there wasnt really much to do. Maybe some interactive display would be good

I visited lawang sewu at noon. It was very hot and crowded, couldn't take good pictures since a lot of people walking through the area. Visiting at noon, I couldn't feel horor atmosphere as what mostly people talk about this iconic building in Semarang...
