About
Amid lush ravines and picturesque rice fields, the Campuhan Ridge Walk is one of the most popular treks in Ubud. You’ll start off the hike at the meeting point of the Wos Rivers by the historic core of this charming Bali town. Stop along the way to take in the views and recharge with some coffee overlooking the peaceful lily ponds. About three miles there and back, the trail is best enjoyed around sunrise and sunset, when temperatures are milder. After the hike, don’t miss Ubud’s vibrant city center, where you can shop for handicrafts and visit ancient landmarks. – Tripadvisor

    Nice 1 hour walk
A nice, easy walk through the Ubud hillside in which the paths are paved and well maintained. So suitable for all ages. It takes you through the jungle so lots of lush greenery. Another free walk that is nice to do, has more views of the rice fields and slightly shorter is the Sweet Orange Walk which starts near the Lotus Cafe in town.

    Nice walk
Campuhan Ridge Walk is a beautiful and scenic walking trail located in Ubud, Bali. The trail offers stunning views of the lush greenery, rice paddies, and valleys that surround the area. It is my favourite morning activity. The walk is about 2 kilometers long and is a relatively easy hike that is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. Along the way, there are plenty of photo opportunities and places to stop and take in the views. One of the best times to go on the Campuhan Ridge Walk is early in the morning or late in the afternoon, as the weather is cooler and the light is perfect for taking photographs. It is also less crowded during these times, which makes for a more peaceful and enjoyable experience. Overall, the Campuhan Ridge Walk is a must-visit attraction for anyone visiting Ubud. The stunning views and peaceful surroundings make it a perfect escape from the busy city, and it is a great way to immerse oneself in Bali's natural beauty.

    A Nice Walk
Pretty nice walk. The views were not as spectacular as I had hoped, but it made for a pleasant (and free) excursion. There are a number of shops selling paintings towards the end of the walk, and we found the quality of the paintings to be better than in town. We made two purchases.

Beautiful walk with amazing views (but choose a good path if running it)
What an amazing view! I did this walk as a 5km jog, which was amazing. However, I think I should have chosen the other path as the one I took (the shorter of the two paths) was a bit difficult to run along due to the square blocks that make up the path. It looks from the photos that the longer path might have smoother running ground. Such a wonderful experience and gorgeous view. The path I ran took you up a hill and into a little village where you could grab lunch as well if you wanted to. Highly recommend!

    Lovely morning walk
I read a number of reviews as I have bad knees and wanted to make sure I could do this walk. It isn’t a difficult walk but neither is it easy. If you go from the Karsa Kafe end then it’s easy as you won’t have all the uphill gradients, I would have struggled a bit coming the other way. It is all paved so easy to walk on. The rice paddies are only at the start before you get to the entrance of the walk. The views over to the hills are lovely and there is quite a bit of shade. I didn’t find it hot at all and we went at 0800. My watch said we did 2.7 Km’s from drop off point to the Ibah Hotel where you end. It was lovely at the end of the walk with the river and the temple. It took us under an hour and we stopped to take photos along the way.

Immerse yourself in the lushness of Ubud!
Great walk! Definitely go in early morning before it’s too hot as there r lots of areas with no shade. Also, lots of steps! After a while of walking, you will find a sweet village where you can purchase a beverage and shop. I purchased a piece of art from a wonderful Balinese man. He will roll up the art so it’s easy to carry back down the trail. This walk is a MUST when visiting Ubud!

    It’s a hill 😂
If you don’t like walking uphill then give this one a miss. It’s really pretty and a lovely walk to do but you do have to mind your footing as the slabs aren’t evenly placed. I’ll say it was pretty busy in places and wasn’t what I expected from the photographs I’ve seen but seeing all the houses built into the hills is lovely and listening to the river rather than the hum of engines is also a nice change.

    Pleasant early-morning walk
We did the walk at 6:30am which was a good time of day. Not too hot at the start, but it warmed up quickly as the sun rose higher. We left from outside Ibah Hotel, so the walk was uphill most of the way. It finally flattens out when you reach the rice fields. The scenery was pleasant, especially at the start of the walk when the path goes through forest and past the temple. Not spectacular, but if you treat it as a stroll in nature it’s a nice way to start the day. If you have trouble with going up stairs and walking uphill for a few kilometers though, it’s probably best to do the walk in reverse.

Peaceful walk, scenery is a little underwhelming
As usual this was a poorly signposted trail so a little tricky to find the beginning. Once you start it is really a nice surprise how soon the city sounds fade away and you’re fully immersed in nature. We started at 7am and there were already quite a few people who had completed their walks by the time we started. On the one hand it’s much quieter than the rice fields walk which is great and is much more relaxing. On the other, the scenery doesn’t really compare to the rice fields either. After the gate which marks the end of the walk itself, there are some nice cafes, warungs and little art workshops. All in all a good way to start the day in Ubud

    Easy morning walk
View was good. We went on the morning for a breakfast at a local wearing near the exit and walked backwards towards Ubud. Walk was short (~30 mins) and manageable for older folks. The were areas of steeper slopes but in general it is manageable with shoes with good traction.

I was expecting spectacular views which were a bit disappointing. That said, it was nice to get out of central Ubud and walk along the ridge and through the trees. Easy path to find and follow and not too long. A bit steep in sections so potentially not suitable for those with mobility/knee issues. Some lovely cafes/earrings along the way. This walk is best done early in the morning or later in the day avoiding the worst heat.

I’m not even sure why this is called an attraction! Is a poorly slabbed footpath which is easy to twist your ankle on and there is absolutely nothing to see. Maybe this was nice once but there is no view to see at all as everything is overgrown. This was so poor that I had to double check that I was actually on the ridgeway at all. Honestly do not waste your time with this. It’s just a path with nothing to see at all.

Unfortunately, this walk has fallen to the development of accommodation and resorts. After the initial few hundred metres and the traditional paved walk with jungle either side, it soon becomes just a string of shops restaurants and resort villas with added construction.

It is advisable to start your trip from the North (Ridgewalk start from north as in the Google Map/Grab/BlueBird/GoJek) and walk towards the South, as this way, you are walking slightly downhill. The entire walk is around 1.0km, and you will arrive at a parking lot at the end of the walk. The walk is fairly relaxed, and you can find great views along the way. Though to get best photos, you may need to get a drone or a camera extension pole. Online car hailing app (Grab/BlueBird/GoJek) works at the south end of the walk, which is a great plus for the tourist.

Loved this walk! I do it every time I’m in Ubud! It’s just beautiful. Be sure to take a hat and sunscreen if you go in the midday heat.

The Balinese people have not designed this walk for plus-sized people.

After walking for about 20 minutes (about 500 meters) I met another plus-sized individual on the narrow ridge. We were forced to stare awkwardly at each other, both unable to pass. To make the matter worse, there were motorbikes piling up behind us on both sides, beeping and yelling something which sounded aggressive at times.

There was nothing left but to slowly walk back to the beginning of the trail, as there was absolutely NO WAY to pass each other on this narrow ridge. By the time I got to the beginning where there was a wide area that the other woman could use to fit past me, I was so tired and embarrassed that I could not continue the journey and had to be escorted back.

I am very disappointed with the local people for being so non-inclusive and non-courteous, the width of their walking roads. Someone needs to explain to them that it's the 21st century already.

To get to the entrance of the hike through Ubuds morning traffic actually took longer than hiking to the hill top and back.

Scenery is nice for sure.

Ok for a short walk to explore but we went a bit further than the top and it’s now more developed at the top before you get out into the rice paddies. It’s about 1 hour return if you go further along the road. Very overgrown so hard to see anything on the ridge
