Hi '33anthony2016' >> In our view, having also rafted previously with SOBEK in past years, the word you have used "SAFE" is highly subjective. For there is no such thing as a SAFE white water river in the world, let alone in Bali! For example, 'if' a participant cannot swim, then any rafting company in Bali is potentially enabling a potential incident (or worse) should a raft flip, and yes - they do regularly. However, upon participating and also observing to safety standards of several 'other' Balinese rafting companies, you have made a GOOD CHOICE with this company. Having recently chatted with SOBEK's owner about rafting safety standards in Bali, we really appreciated their frank discussion & honest opinions on the paramount importance of the safety of their customers. In our own professional view, taking children ALWAYS comes at a risk (it's the nature of doing the activity) however, personally we would NOT recommend rafting in Bali for children under 9 years of age. Other Bali companies do, and we do not agree with exposing children to such a risk as young as 5 to this type of activity in Bali.
If you would like to experience a HIGHER SAFETY STANDARD of white water rafting in Bali (particularly if you intend on taking teenagers rafting), then we would have to highly recommend SOBEK BALI RAFTING, as they conduct some of the most professional white water rafting operations (on two rivers) in Bali.

Hi I guess the respond system does not work properly , I answered this question about 9 days ago… anyway, it's about 500 hundred steps down a long stairway to the river… and about 200 steps up from the finish at Ayung river. at the telaga Waja river it is only about 20 steps to the river and 150 going up again. but this river is a little more challenging
