Bharat kala bhawan is located in Banaras Hindu university. It's a great pleasure to visit this museum as it has a number of ancestral weapons which were used by raja and maharajahs. Many old silver and gold coins are kept there. It is very good in terms of educational trip for school students.

It's a very good museum within BHU. Spread over 2 floors, would tale at least couple of hours to see, even for a casual visitor,

This was an unexpected pleasure to visit. There is an excellent collection of sculpture and a truly exceptional display representing many schools of Indian miniature painting. Had we had more time, we would have liked to see more of the beautiful university campus and I would have returned to study the paintings further - so many! so beautiful! so tiny!

Visited bhart kala bhavan during recent visit to national cultural festival at BHU. Great platform for artists to perform. Thanx to BHU who has given a big platform for such events and artists. It was great to visit historic Bharat kala Bhavan and see events happening there well maintained. Best of luck BHU for the future.

It is not as big and bold as the museum at Sarnath, but it is quite and simple located on Banaras Hindu University Campus. From here you can walk to the new Viswanath Temple in 15 minutes. OK it is a history and cultural museum, not for kids.

This two story building has many exhibits including: coins, textile, paintings, carvings, photos, and statues. Some of the articles are so valuable that they are a walk-in safe. However, one has to check their camera before entering as no photo taking is allowed.
