You can only see the broken pieces of the Ashoka Pillar. However, looking at the dates that back almost BC you can imagine the historical importance. You only wish to see this pillar all in one piece standing high with the lions on the top....More
This pillar of ashoka, was cut into pieces by invaders at that time. The remainings collected and placed as in photo. Situated inside a park.
this is the original pillar from where those marks and all taken, however now only parts of the pillar are available. These parts are now safe in a mirror room in Sarnath city
