Available languages are English, German, French and maybe some other European languages. All in all it was very informative, you get a map with numbers on it and the audio... More

Hard to believe that a place like this used to be someones house. Everywhere you look, theres a new corner of the fort where a new turret juts out. Window and column ornaments are the details that make this place special. As you walk the grounds, its easy to imagine what life was like in the 1500's.

Of course I knew about Agra Fort before visiting Agra, but I feel like I hadn't really heard enough about it to eagerly anticipating visiting it. After spending a couple of hours there, I was thoroughly blown away at what an awesome historical site it is. From it's imposing gates and walls at the entrance (with monkeys climbing all over... Impressive building in a lovely setting with views towards the Taj Mahal. Cost is 1000 INR for foreigners. It's possible to pay by credit / debit card. Allow a couple of hours to wander around.

As a family with 4 kids ranging from 16-6 our kids enjoyed the fort much better than the Taj. Far more interactive here for kids as you can walk around and explore more. We negotiated with a "guide" at the entrance (about 200inr) and who knows if the stories are true but the stories and info kept the kids engaged... More

We visited the fort after visiting the Tajmahal and it really brought home the wickedness of the emperors son and the heartache the emperor must have felt only being able to see his beautiful monument to his wife. You cannot visit the Tajmahal without also visiting the fort! It is also a building of incredible beauty.
