Had a private tour of the Taj organised by Cox & Kings. Saved lots of time and was very informative.

I think anyone who visits India knows that you have to include Taj in the itinerary. Take a guide - he will tell you a lot about the history and he knows the perfect spots for great photos. He will also help to escape salesmen. Definitely try to visit it during the sun rise!

Here is the critical tip - if you are doing this on your own or with a car from a... More

This really is a must-see but I don't know about in the afternoon with huge crowds. We visited first thing in the morning and it was very pleasant (though some mosquitos).

This is a bucket list experience and not to be missed- exhausting to visit in the May afternoon heat of 40 degrees c though. If you are claustrophobic then don't go inside the monument itself - the crowd, sweat and sheer crush of humanity around you in limited space is overwhelming. A stroll outside around the spectacular monument was enough... More

Nothing can prepare you for this. It's best to hire a guide to hear the fascinating history as well as to point out the specific details of the Taj. I would strongly encourage you to make the extra effort to be at the gate when it opens at 5:30 am in order to see the sun rise and watch the... More
