After covering several attractions on Ooty - Gudalur Road, Pykara lake & Pykara Falls are about 30 Kms from Ooty. The lake is surrounded by forest on both sides and the area is a regular shooting location of South Indian movies. If we want to indulge in boating - speedboats & motorboats are available for rent, a restaurant and guest... More

We went in February and there was not enough water in dam. So they don't release much water and hence water in Pykara fall was very less so not quite attractive. So probably after monsoon only you can enjoy the Pykara fall. Pykara lake is very nice and we enjoyed boating there. They will take a ride of 8 -... More

Light snacks, soft drink and fruit juices are available. There is a bit of monkey menace so be careful while you are eating. The boats are run by the... More

The place is very scenic and magnificent. The Pykara waterfalls with surroundings is picturesque. I spent around 2 to 3 hours in this place just enjoying the scenic place. This place should be definitely visited during the Ooty visit. Very much impressed!!!!

A short drive from Wenlock Downs 9th Mile Shooting Point is Pykara Falls & Lake. Visitors please note that Pykara Falls and Lake are distinct locations separated by a kilometer from each other. As it suggests, Pykara Falls is the upper stream leading to the lake. Best time to visit is during / just after the monsoons when the water... More
