We visited Yelagiri from Bangalore for a day trip. Started at 5 am from Whitefield and managed to reach by 8.15 even with a 30 min break at the Mc D near Krishnagiri. Boating at the man made lake was a good experience. Went for a trek up the hill. I am not a trek person but managed to reach... More

We took a bike ride from Bangalore to Yelagiri hills, the hill road is good and different, unlike other hill roads we need to pass through hill and ride through them, here you are scaling the same hill till you reach, you can see same view on your right till you reach. Things to do The condition is ok, humid... More

Yelagiri is close to Chennai, can be reached in <5 hours. Temperatures are fairly low but it can get a bit sunny in the noon.. Plenty of hotels and restaurants are available. Variety of options for non veg lovers. Getting there: Catch a train to Jolarpet. Buses ply to the hills at a frequency of 1 every hour. The fair... More

Yelagi Hill in the Eastern Ghats is a simple, no-nonsense, easily accessible, quiet place, where the to-do list is not very long. Hence 2 days are enough if you want to just relax, rejuvenate and connect with nature. Nearest rail head is Jolarpettai Junction. Buses are available between Jolarpettai and Yelagiri almost every hour in both directions. If you are... More

We were able to catch Rapti Sagar SF Express from Chennai Central at 1 a.m. (as the train was late) for Jollarpettai JN. We manged to get seats in General compartment as the train was not very crowded. I manged... More

Started from Bangalore by road on a one day trip to Yelagiri at 10.30 am on Saturday, with decent lunch break managed to reach there at 2pm. The hair pin bends are easy to navigate through. After checking in we started to look around n went to the lake, it was a disappointment. It's a small man made lake with... More

We had visited Yelagiri in August, 2016 from Chennai. We went by train from Chennai central to Jolarpettai junction. This is the most economical option. I feel this place is a bit over-hyped. I found only the trekking part to Swamimalai fascinating. It is an easy to medium level trek with good scenic view once you reach the top. Apart... More

weekend economical getaway from chennai. Good for unwinding and playing around in cool weather and visit some places. MoonLand residency is the best resort we stayed...The home cooked food by them was real tasty and of reasonable rate. We also played indoor games there. Stay was comfortable.
