Trip Summary: Delhi-Guwahati-Shillong-Cherrapunji-mawyalong-Dawki-Shillong-Guwahati-Delhi - 4 days We went to this place on day 2 of our trip. This is the 2nd point in sightseeing after Elephant Falls. You can spend around 15030 mts here taking some photos of scenic Shillong from hill top. Since the place is inside protected air-base so you are checked thoroughly on gate. Nothing much apart... More

I never thought that Shillong would be such a big city before I reached Shillong Peak. They have binoculars and you can pay and use it to spot places in Shillong. Army owns the entire place and have maintained it properly.

A must visit place for everyone visiting Shillong. It takes only thirty minutes to reach the location which is inside defence establishment. But to gain entry it takes some time however defence personal have direct access without waiting in queue. The view is very good. It also has a facility of telescopic view. No of tea stall are available.

Visited this place on 24 Dec. Pleasant drive to the top of the hill but was denied access inside the area by two defence guards. Reasons were not clear but I was told that it was because of a security issue. So the famed view of Shillong town is more possible for the average Joe.

20 minutes drive from shillong to the peak but it might take more than an hour. Surprised? yes it happens because the point is inside the defense area, though the defense people do not have to wait otherwise long ques can be very irritating. Once you reach there you forget everything after looking at the view. Telescope service is there.... More

It is a peaceful, scenic place which provide a bird eye view of Scotland of India. Shillong being a rainy place dry season is suitable to visit this place. However, late December and January is not suitable for less visibility due to fog. Suitable place for a family and Friends.
