I visited this place after Mattancherry Palace. Rs 5 entry fee was there which was acceptable. No photography was allowed inside. Someone should be there to tell us history of this place.

The synagogue bespeaks the rich tradition of Kerala where shelter was given to the oppressed and the first Jewish settlement in India

Basically a relic from a time many years ago when Jews lived in Cochin. Now there are less than 10 Jews left in the old Jewish area where this synagogue is. Interesting to see a place where Jews actually lived and prayed.

Interesting place to visit and it is surrounded by craft and spice shops. Only four Jews left in Cochin. Close to palace.

The Jewish community is very small indeed and it is remarkable that they are managing to keep this synagogue going

Worth seeing. Very small. Closed on the Saturday. No photography inside and you have to take your shoes off. Get a guide to explain the history behind the synagogue. Very busy on a Sunday morning.

sorry Allen, only just saw this question. The congregation is very small now and mostly elderly so I am not sure if social media is an option. May I suggest that you contact the Kochi tourist office? I am sorry that I cannot... More
