It is entirely possible that this little square was quite the social spot, facing as it does the waterfront of Kochi. As things stand now, it is literally a fish market, with fishing nets in the water and freshly-caught fish being sold in the square. The sellers will offer to cook it for you right there. So you can imagine... More

This is the livliest place on the fort kochi area. A beautiful kids play area with a park and lot of benches to relax. It is surrounded by hotels and eateries. Must visit in fort Kochi.

For a stroll along the beach and chance to patronize some food vendors, it's a nice enough excursion.

The Vasco da Gama square is flooded with locals and tourists who come there to see the chinese fishing nets and take a walk on the beach. The square has many cafes and hawkers selling variety of food stuff. There is also a park for children nearby the square. In the mornings the place is very peaceful.

Vasco da Gama Square, where you will find synagogues, mosques, churches and temples side by side, is a place with a fascinating history. The huge cantilevered fishing net, the Chinese fishing nets, seen here is a legacy of its spellbinding past. The nets, set up on teak and bamboo poles, were brought by one of the first visitors to the... More

VASCO DA GAMA Square is located where the Chinese fishing Nets are found. Not much of activity but a lot of eateries can be found around the Square and becomes a hive of activity at sunset. Lots of food vendors peddling their food and some selling souvenir stuff can be found in this area.

There are lots of options here to spend time. You can see Chinese fishing nets, buy fish and ask the roadside eateries to cook it.
