I had my last visit in December with my family. I should say the best time to visit would be early morning. The afternoon should be avoided as we have a long walk to be made to reach the dam. We would be entering through the cheruthoni dam and will proceed to Idukki Dam. Before reaching Idukki dam you can... More

It was a wonderful experience which gives a splendid view of 3 dams. Visitors are not allowed to carry cameras or phones and will have to go to idukki town for capturing a full size pics of the dam

Try to go close to the Dam. If require take permission from the police. Go stand on your back on the dam an look up !!!!!!! You would never forget the view....555 ft above your head a dam stands curved on top. It's not just and arch dam, it's a parabolic dam.

Idukki Dam is restricted place, hence it will open for public during Xmas and Onam. Electronic devices are strictly prohibited, there is no locker, you left the things in your vehicle itself. It is on the way to the hill view park.

The view of Dam is good. Most peoples missed the vaishali cave which is the main attraction of this place. You need to take... More
