We traveled by boat from Kollam to Alleppey, an eight hours journey, surrounded by the awesome, amazing scenery of Kerala Backwaters. Rivers, lakes, and canals - natural and manmade - from the Ashtamudi Lake to the city of Alleppey (Alappuzha). We saw astounding natural beauties alternating with churches, temples, and small fisherman villages. We stopped to times during the trip:... More

I rented a small boat to do a whole day trip in the backwaters with my friend. It was a really great experience. I was happy I rented a small boat because it can enter smaller tributaries which is obviously impossible for big boats to explore.

We were a group of 9 people who booked this boat. It was a wonderful experienceand all of us enjoyed it immensely. The houseboat was kept neat and clean. The food served was very tasty. The only problem was that they stopped the boat at 5.30 pm. We got down and explored the surroundings which was a once in a lifetime... More

There are temples and villages dotted all around and lots of delicious local food to try. Unfortunately, this beautiful area is suffering greatly due to the hundreds... More

If you are visiting Kerala, Backwaters of Kerala is must see place. Once in a lifetime visit. Book a houseboat and spend a day in Backwaters. You will able to see very nice view of Vembadana Lake. You will get Peace of Mind by watching scenic view of backwaters. I recommend to go during december to February.

There are many ships and places offering tours. We stayed on a private houseboat overnight and enjoyed not only the lake but especially the channels in the backwaters which have a better flair then the lake itself (which is vast). Would always recommend again a houseboat and a stay overnight. Check in at lunchtime - travel till around 5pm. then... More

Who would not welcome the idea of a cruise on the placid waters of Vembanad Lake while soaking in the heavenly views around and dining on fresh catch of the day as also ethnic dishes? If you do not do an overnight cruise, opt for a day one. If you stay at Kumrakom Lake Resort, then this makes for a... More

The most peaceful and serene time of my life was spent in the boathouse in the backwaters of Kerala. You can book a boathouse with one of the local providers. I booked with 'Lakes and Lagoons'. Me and my family booked an A/C houseboat with 2 rooms for one night. I will recommend to book an A/C one in December... More
