This island is a boat ride away from mainland. There are ferry boats plying to and fro all the time. The beach is beautiful and uncrowded. There are plenty of benches to lounge and admire the view. Plenty of beachside stalls too. Great place for a picnic or even a solo getaway.

Sultan Battery is located several miles from downtown. We were told we should go see it, but there is really nothing there except the remaining part of the fort. The interesting part of the remains by fort is built of black stones.

Sulthan battery is located in mangalore, which is a natural island at the junction of the lake and sea. I visited this place as a part of official meeting in which boating was present. Don't know about the exact status of boating at other time. There is a small fort located in the island which was made during the tippu... More

The ruins itself is quite small and not interesting but has an interesting view. Quick access to Tannirbhavi beach by catching a boat across. Scenic ride.

This place left me totally underwhelmed. It has age and I see why it was constructed but there is nothing here apart from this stone monolith on the edge of a rather scruffy and dirty car park/beach. The whole place is littered with rubbish and there is nothing to give you an historic perspective or be informative. Beyond the car... More

A small fort at the river bank. Peaceful area, backwater all makes good for photography. And there's a ferry 🚢 ride to the beach 🏖 on the other side. But the down side is poor level of maintenance, little bit tidy.

The old Sultan battery is a monument and you can see see the beauty around. Very good place for photography because you will get beautiful background. Must take a boat ride to cross the river.
