Visit during day, spectacular view, prepare for traffic and cold misty winds.
Sep 2021
Went on saturday evening. It was cloudy, foggy with heavy winds. Make sure to carry water bottle, wear cap to cover ears and wind blocking jacket. Keep one thin raincoat as well as whether is unpredictable.

Prepare to park your vehicle 500m to 1km before the actual parking spot. You might have to walk to base of peak. You will get great view of valley and 2 lakes and won't regret parking your vehicle much before the peak base.
After that it is about 20 minutes of steep stairs to the peak. There is forest checkpost 10km before which allows 150 vehicles at a time so prepare to wait there as well. Try to visit before 3pm so that you have sufficient time to reach the peak and explore it considering the traffic.

Gorgeous drive to the peak and beautiful view from the top. Of course, the pahado wali Maggi and chai is a must try at the top.

Awesome weather.
The trip from the base to the pramanit self was so exhilarating and awesome. I felt like stopping he car and enjoying the view at every corner.
The clouds gushing in from the windows makes you feel so refreshed.

The peak takes you to actually on the clouds. You know now what the clouds are made up of.

Hot coffee and tea in the cold Raine morning at the hill top canteen on the way felt heavenly.

On the way, 1 km before the top, there is Sitalayyanagiri temple with ample space to walk around and parking. Awesome views from that point.
On busy weekend, you can consider parking your cae here and walk through clouds for rest of the road.

Pl note - on busy weekends, police control no of vehicles going to top. They let go cars in batches of 150. So be patient at the check post.
On the top on busy days parking is difficult. People end up parking roadside on the narrow hilly road. Deep valley on one side. So be prepared.

Beautiful
Aug 2021
We visited this place but did not do much as it was crowded
You must have a sturdy car to go up there as the vehicle skids in rain
Try and visit on a week day with less crowds
We did not trek to the top because of crowds but if less crowds u should go up to the peak.

Must place to visit while you are in Chikmagalur
Jul 2021
It was drizzling, lots of wind and clouds touching your head literally with no visibility - really fabulous place and do not miss place away from Chikmagalur. Driving can be a little treacherous and you need to be careful. Road is OK till the temple after which the next 1-2 kms seems single lane with bad roads . Beyond it, which we did not go, the road does not seem to be there...

Our Mullayangiri trip experience
Jul 2021
Road to the peak is a treat to the eye..! Worth visiting pace..Cloudy drizzling climate (we visited in July).. We took a bike for rental and its 14 km from the town..Sitalayangiri is a view point from there you can reach the peak. In the peak, you can visit Lord Shiva temple in the chilling climate..Worth visiting !

Ideal spot for Sunset.
Feb 2021
The highest peak of Karnataka. The road to the peak goes through the forest. Do not miss the sunset from this point.

Most beautiful sunset witnessed
Mar 2021 • Couples
Had to climb more than 500 steps to witness the most beautiful sunset. The ride on the curvy road was unexplainable and yet the most heavenly
