A place of great historical significance. The monument is really beautiful. The intricate carvings, sculptures and colours are spectacular. This place gives you a good view of the Leh valley. It is extremely windy there. Though the sun's heat might feel very soothing and you might end up getting rid of your woollens but please do not do that you... More

This place is in Leh town and it comes as local sight seeing. You will get great view of Leh town from here. We were lucky because Arjun Rampal was there on that time.

It's great place to visit with beautiful view. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful. You can take cabs if you are not used to climb\walk through stairs. We can call it with other name as Japan Stupa since it was built by one of Japanese Buddhist.

All Buddhist stupas are generally spectacular in terms of choice of location, peacefulness and cleanliness, but the Shanti Stupa at Leh even excels it's fellow stupas. Situated at some distance from the main Leh city, this monument is really a great place to spend some quality time. Beautifully maintained with impeccable cleanliness all around. View of the city is spectacular... More

When we reached, there were meditation sessions going on, and we were more than happy to be a part of them....after seeing the stupa, we relaxed in the Cafe @ the Shanti Stupa. It offers great views of Leh & mountain ranges all around. Very Beautiful!!!

Shanti Stupa is located atop a hill in Chanspa area of Leh and can be approached by road (a bit circuitous) or on foot (lots of stairs to climb) and is one of the most modern Buddhist constructions around Leh city (completed in the year 1991). There is a main Buddha temple and a meditation hall on the way to... More

This is a primary attraction of Leh. Copies of it have sprouted everywhere in India, but none comes like this one. And of course, the serenity is unparalleled. An epitome of peace, the Shanti Stupa in Leh will fill your senses with wonder and quietness. The entry is free. There is a golden roof and golden Buddha before you go... More

Visit the place if you are in Leh on a photography trip. It provides fascinating views of the Leh town and surrounding mountains. Preferred time of visit is around sunset, when the mountains are lit up in a golden hue. For individuals on a tight schedule, this can be skipped.
