You would get to read this at the entrance... The tombs form a large cluster and stand on a raised platform. The tombs are domed structures built on a square base surrounded by pointed arches, a distinctive style that blends Persian, Pashtun and Hindu forms. The tombs are structures with intricately carved stonework and are surrounded by landscaped gardens. The... More

Located about a kilometer north from Golconda Fort, the Qutub Shahi tombs represent the most authentic and majestic display of the Qutub Shahi dynasty architectural traditions today. The grandeur of the tombs is ensconced amidst the beautiful and picturesque landscape and gardens of Ibrahim Bagh, and the tombs themselves are dedicated to the seven Qutub Shahi kings who ruled Golconda... On the way to Golkonda Fort, stop at the tombs of Hyderabad royalty, a quiet, contemplative site. The site was deserted on a Monday afternoon, and felt like a smaller version of Humayun’s Tomb in Delhi. The ASI is restoring the site – both buildings and gardens. Judging from the first tomb, it will be beautiful when finished. Unfortunately, we... More

Had read that the tombs were closed on Friday. However, since we were already at the Golconda Fort decided to drive by and were rewarded to find them open. I am glad that we did. Even in their current condition they are pretty impressive. I think they will be amazing when the current 10 year restoration effort is complete.

A great historical place to be with majestic tombs and awesome karigaris on the minarets. The gachi bowli,i.e the well was under restoration but yet was a good site. the museum is also good to explore. But neatness is to be maintained.Government needs to ban plastics out in such a great historical place.

Only one of its kind in the world where an entire dynasty has been buried at one place. It lie a kilometer away from Golkonda fort. These tombs are said to be the oldest historical monuments in Hyderabad. The Qutub Shahi tombs represent the most authentic and majestic display of the Qutub Shahi dynasty architectural traditions today. Timings: 9.30 am... More

I visited the Qutb Shahi Tombs on my recent trip to Hyderabad. Though it was not on my to-visit list, my friend suggested we visit it. I am glad we did. The tombs are a set of 7 tombs belonging to 6 kings and 1 queen of the Qutb Shahi dynasty. They are spread over a huge area and are... More

Our taxi driver stopped here on the way to the fort and it was worth the diversion. First, I picked up a guide at the front gate that did a good job walking us around and explaining what we were looking at. That was very useful as there were no signs indicating what was there. He also then came up... More

Went here after roaming around in Golkonda fort. and trust me, this turned out to be much, much better place than Golkonda... The tombs are in quite good condition and the jumble of arches for each building is really fantastic....worth looking for is the mosque within. the thing that strikes you most is how soon even mighty kings can get...
