It was a great tour, on the road there are many things to see and the tourguide Lemin knows allot wich make it very nice. The walk with lions was great and impressive, and then we had a bootride wich was unbelievble (for me) at a nice hotel we had dinner and lunch wich was also provided. I would recomment tgis trip. Communication with Armstrong prior to the trip was top notch. We paid 30% of the trip upfront through Paypal and paid the rest in cash in person. Lamin was our guide and he was fabulous – clearly knowledgeable and extremely friendly. We booked 3 tours with these guys – the Sunset Cruise (this is not a cruise but a raft that fits 4-6 people, FYI!), the Fathala Game Reserve in Senegal, and the River Roots tour. The Senegal safari was our favorite, we saw all the animals in the park and also did the Lion walk, where we got a ton of gorgeous pictures.

We actually booked 3 tours with Armstrong before we got to the Gambia. We choose his company for the good reviews and also that he donates a fraction of the cost paid to local schools and community projects and loved the local level in which he operated. From the start via email Armstrong was fantastic at coming back to me promptly to all my numerous queries (we counted 41 email at last count). Nothing was too small and he was always so friendly and approachable. He also included free airport transfers due to the number of excursions we booked which was brilliant. When we met him in Gambia he was just as friendly and helpful and nothing was too much to organise. He and his team truly made the holiday. The senegal trip with lion walk was fantastic. Sheriff was a great guide and fantastic with our daughter (who struggled in the heat). He made sure we knew what was happening and guided us through the immigration process at the senegal border. The lion walk was done by my husband who loved it, but its worth noting that the lions will be sluggish at this time as its hot and they would not normally be out and about. Also the lions are not drugged which was a major item we needed to clarify. Apart from fathala the actual journey was brilliant and experiencing the ferry was a lot of fun. We also booked a bird watching tour and a trip to Makasutu and the guides Papa were very intersecting and helpful. Overall Black and White are a fantastic local business and they should keep doing what they are doing!!

The trip to Kunta Kinteh (James) island is undoubtedly one of the highlights of our holiday to the Gambia. We were a group of 26 including one child. We were picked up from our hotel and were taken to the Banjul seaport where we boarded our boat it just our group only, which made it more like a family outing. The boat was comfortable and spacious, very relaxing. Food and drinks were plentiful, and hot drinks were served in beautiful china cups and saucers. The majority of the group was vegan / vegetarians so i was concern that there might not be anything suitable provided on the menu, but my concerns was soon diminished when i saw the delicious vegan and vegetarian food that was on offer. The tour guides were very knowledgeable. All in all a very good day it was also emotional but a memorable day. I would definitely recommend it, everything was professionally done,

Can not rate these guys highly enough. We were looked after by Papa for the full day, he was knowledgeable, considerate and an all round great guy! We travelled across the border to Sengal and spent two hours doing the safari tour and then around an hour with the lions. Spending time with the lions was without doubt one of the greatest experiences of my life. So happy we choose Armstrong and the team and black and white.
