The Blue Hole doesn't disappoint

Here is a short description: - full of buses, tourists. - people stand and sit on the mostly dead corals around the hole. - plenty of jellyfish - rubbish and plastic everywhere in the water - the blue hole is a hole, nothing to See when you snorkel there. - heavy smell of chlorine or cat urine. Difficult to tell.... More

You don't have to be a scuba- or freediver to enjoy the Blue Hole. It's lots of fun for snorkelers, too. The fish life are more prevalent on the outside, though. And, the water is pretty chilly in March (21C). There are lots of restaurants and even accommodation. I'd recommend staying in Dahab over Sharm El-Sheikh as it is a... More

I have dived the blue hole twice, once from the Bells and once from the shore. It was amazing there was so much sea life to see from fish, octopus and eels. the coral was beautiful and we were lucky to see the world championship freediving trials taking place too.

Loved diving from the Bells to the blue hole. Viz was bad during my dives, but still enjoyable. Can imagine it gets really busy with snorkellers during the holidays, and could cause them to be in the way when trying to enter and exit.

Really easy access from Dahab via jeep, camel or taxi. Easy access into the water for snorkelling or diving, though the snorkelling is so good you don't need to dive!

The entrance to the blue hole though bells was great. I really enjoyed this site, the fish were everywhere and the coral looked mostly healthy. It was good from 30 meters up to 10... There were quite a few other divers in the hole at the end when we were all doing safety stops but it was fun not overly... More

Go earlier in the day if possible to avoid the crowds. You will be encouraged to eat at one of the local cafes at the site so bring a little extra cash if you wish to do so.

Right next to the restaurants & bars.. Perfect site. ( especially if you have a non diving partner - which I have ) If you enter via The Bells, it can feel a bit scary. straight down to 30 metres. one by one - so if you are following your dive master or buddy you can't see anything but bubbles,...
