Abu Simbel Excursion 1 Day Trip from Aswan (Sharing Bus & Egyptologist Guide)

15 reviews
Enjoy your Trip to Abu Simbel. we will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan from 4 am to 4h30 am by a modern air-conditioned coach to enjoy a small group tour to Abu Simbel. The two Temples of Abu Simbel, with their unique style, are considered to be the masterpieces of ancient Egypt. They reflect the glory and grandeur of the new Kingdom. The Egyptian government and UNESCO decided to co-operate in order to save these temples from the flood. The Temple of Ramsses II was dedicated to the four universal gods Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re, and to Ramsses II himself. The great Abu Simbel temple is also called The Sun Temple of Ramssess II.The Temple of Queen Nefertari is also Called Temple of Hathor who was the wife of the Sun God so in a symbolic way, the two Temples, that of Ramsses II and that of Nefertari, bring Ramesses II, Nefertari, Hathor and the Sun God together as one. Later on, you will be escorted back from Abu Simbel to your hotel in Aswan.

Having been wowed in the daytime with our first visit to this site, we were looking forward to this much hyped show. It felt a little dated compared other similar light shows we have seen around the world - Singapore, Dubai, Hong Kong etc.

The show is just okay but to see the temples lit up at night was special. The history of King Ramses is narrated with historical scenes on a projection screen on the two temples.

The light show itself is kinda cheesy but it is worth sitting through the show to see the beautiful temples all lit up. I understand they are working on a newer, more sophisticated version of the light show but I would go regardless. The temples are magical at night and they leave the lights on for a while after the show so you can get some beautiful photos!!

This show is amazing. The music and the different lights that tell the story are great. This is one that you should not miss.

In the recent years light shows have become very popular that they spring up everywhere. Thus, this looked and sounded dated by today's standards. Clarity of pictures, montage's, and scenes were out of focus or had to much light. On the top most edges of the scenes the light from other areas was very intrusive. So the scenes were not obvious. We attended a showing, the language being Chineese; however the audio equipment (english spoken) was very clear and ran concurrently with the visualisation on the monuments.
