Tasitolu (Three Seas) are three large, very shallow lakes joined together. Birdlife is starting to reestablish itself, but urban encroachment is also happening. It is largely a place to go through, although monuments built to celebrate the visit of Pope John Paul II are worth a brief look.

Well worth a visit, this is a really good likeness. The view is very good, although you need to go for a walk through the trees to get a photo. Also good views on the way up and down.

Tasitolu is an attraction in the western edge of Dili. It is an area of small lakes but is more notable for having a statue of Pope John-Paul II on one of its hills as a kind of mirror to the Cristo Rei statue on the other side of Dili. Tastitolu is an important area for birds but it does... More

We visited the site just before flying as is it next to the airport.. Good time to visit is in the morning as it is cool and the sun shines on the statue. There are quite a few stairs and at the top a small chappel and the statue - which was built in celebration of the 1989 Pope's visit.... More

if you are lucky you will see a pelican but the Papa statue is most underwhelming - such a pity given the location
