Overview
More
At the beginning of the 20th century, Korzo started to assume its modern-day outlines. The main promenade and meeting-point for Rijeka citizens as well as the construction area used in building the symbolic palaces demonstrate various styles including Classical, Historical, Secessional, and Modernist. Urban regulations appeared in the latter half of the 19th century, but these meant only an intensification of the rate of raising the seabed (with sand), and grand public constructions which appear to have very developed the seabed. Even then, at the turn of the century, the picture is of a littoral town straitened by its walls. Today, is hard to believe that until the sea-trench was filled-in and the town walls pulled down, this was only a gravel sea coast with a few wooden embankments and storehouses, a shipyard and a city log house which traded in cereals, fish and salt.

It is certainly not the best shopping street, main street or pedestrian area in the world (or even in Croatia), but it has its charm. Do wander also to the side-streets.

Cleaning needed and serious management of content. The city is just happy with long term nothing. Shops are being closed, bars are so so and there is no serious approach to content in summer or winter. Do not plan too much time for this site...More

It's said this clock tower at the Korzo is the dividing point between old and new with the newest parts of town on the water side of it. Whatever the history, it makes a lovely landmark for this delightful area, the first thing that a...More

I've taken walks on Korzo almost everyday for the last 10 years :) It's the main street in Rijeka, and has many shops and coffee places on it.

Very heart of Rijeka, lots of people passing by, you can find lot of bars around, honestly nothing special compared to other cities in Croatia such as Dubrovnik but still it is the spot you cannot miss in Rijeka, even if you try to :)

I've been to Rijeka several times and have really enjoyed my walks on this pedestrian-only street. There are a lot of small shops and good but not great restaurants and bars that attract a lot of locals to the center of the town, and it...More

There is cheap parking nearby at Delta parking, you just cross the road and you are at the start of Korzo. Part way down is a helpful TIC. You get a good map of Rijeka and Trsat, the latter is very useful when negotiating your...More

There are several coffee shops and restaurants to have a great lunch or just enjoy a cup of coffee with a friend or solo.

Nice town of Rijeka was crowded with people getting home in rush hour on Friday. I liked Korzo the most during Halloween festival which takes place in February known as Rijecki karneval. The "must see place" on Korzo is Kras Choco Bar.

During sunny days, it gets crowded and I liked more to walk there during evenings, when there are not too many people. Korzo is part of Rijeka you cannot miss, but otherwise there's nothing special to note about it. May be attractive for shoppers.
