My wife an I bought a wine tasting package since it is near our house down the shore. The place had terrific atmosphere, and some very knowledgeable people. The tasting area was very cool, and the wines were delivered in a towering rack that held your wine choices. Very generous on the servings. Bring some food/snacks and take your time!!!

Kathy our wine server was knowledgeable and personable. I can't have reds due to migraines and they were very accommodating.

The staff couldn't be more hospitable. We arrived shortly after they closed but the staff was still there cleaning up. They let us have a sample tasting and enjoy a glass of wine on their patio. Wines were very good and the staff was able to suggest the perfect wines when we told them what we usually like. Can't wait... More

We were taken via town car by South Jersey Wine Tours (great experience and perfect gift thanks to our children) from Brigantine to Almathea winery (about 50 minutes) Alicia explained how they make it, why they mix what they do and where each grape comes from. The pours are not large. But after the 15th one, you understand why! Very... More

If the tasting wasn't so rushed, I would've rated this winery much higher. We both chose to taste the reds since they claim they are known for their reds. The wine itself varied- their blends were very good, their merlot and cab were okay. The tasting room itself had a wine cave feel- cool, rustic, dark, and reminded us a... More

Amalthea is a great winery with three separate areas for tastings of dry white, dry red and semi-sweet/ off dry wines. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The building is very cool, and the outdoor seating area is a great place to hang out.

Amalthea winery makes something for everyone. You have a choice of 3 different flights: reds, whites and off dry wines. I prefer the sweeter wines so I did the whties and off dry and my husband did the reds and whites. They are $6 a tasting or $10 for 2 flights. Everything I tasted was good. I liked the Resiling... I enjoy visiting local wineries. This was my first visit but I will return. I prefer dry reds and theirs were very good and prices were reasonable. I ado tasted the sweet wines which were also good . They were not overly sweet and very flavorful. We did not try the dry whites. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable.... More
