Drove up from Southern Maryland to see 311 play the Stone Pony Summer Stage on Saturday, July 15. Don't look to be blown away by this venue; it's pretty much a gated parking lot with a huge stage and outdoor bars surrounding it. That being...More

I have been to the outside "Summer Stage" to see several concerts, and it is always enjoyable. Rain or shine seeing a concert outdoors so close to the beach is perfect.

This venue would be really cool if they didn't overpack the place. We recently saw Gogol Bordello here and it was impossible to even move. I understand that it's a small place, but people are getting BIGGER, so that needs to be considered. Also, there...More

This venue is a bit Tougher Than the Rest. It's Glory Days are definitely in the rearview mirror. Stone Pony is basically One Step Up from the Double Deuce, that bar in Roadhouse. I saw two shows here this past year: Built to Spill and...More

Although it was not officially open, the owner was happy for us to wander about you see where Springsteen played in his early days - I'm a fan and it' long been an ambition to visit Asbury Park/Stone Pony. They still have plenty of live...More

Wow! The Stone Pony did not disappoint. It was so exciting to see this iconic Jersey Shore music institution. The stage is small and the place is intimate. The walls are lined with guitars and there are pictures of music greats all over. What a...More

Great place to see a show, weather it's a local battle of the bands or a national act, we've seen Stryper, Sebastian Bach, Anthrax and Motorhead here. You can get right up to the stage in this intimate setting. Bartenders are great. Come out and...More

Went to the stone pony last night for the first time and the place was HORRIBLE. I have never been to a more crowded establishment in my life. I can't believe how many people they had sardined inside. The staff was insanely rude I have...More

Especially The Stone Pony, which seems to rely heavily on its reputation and long-term placement in such a popular shore area--while the decor is somewhat interesting, with all the hundreds of real signed guitars adorning the walls, it is overall kind of dated and dingy....More

Buy tickets in advance. Eat in Asbury Park. Dance your heart out. Look at the memorabilia on the walls. Buy a hat and shirt. Take a cab /uber home . Visit in every season and walk the boardwalk.....

Depending on the show, most opening acts begin inside at doors until the main summer stage show begins. It's always recommended to get to a show early to catch upcoming local bands inside prior to the headlining acts. As far... More

I can't say 100% but I don't think so...at least not in the main part where you see the band's. Possibly at the bar though. But even if there is in the main area, standing wall to wall like packed sardines in a very... More
