This was a very beautiful place and I would recommend it highly as a must do trip if you are in Medellin. The steps to the top of the mountain are a little scary in places but once you are at the top the view is unbelievable.

Really cool place to visit from Medellin we went by scooter and it was quite a long (but really fun as well) ride. The climb on the steps is pretty long especially if you have to stand in line as well..

Is a beautiful place. There you can see a huge rock emerging from the bottom of Laguna de Guatape. The rock has a stairs way up to the top. Don`t miss it because on the top you will see an amazing view of the laguna. Also is a good spot to take photos. Take the boat trip throughout the Laguna,... More

Amazing site for the view ! You can also do a visit of the islands by boat or see the Pablo Escobarr's house. Really a good day of fun for Guatape.

This place is so unique, it has a huge meteorite in the middle of a beautiful lagoon, you have to climb to the top to see a beautiful view o the entire lagoon. You can do many different extreme sports. Excellent place for the whole family.

We first went up the rock which was pretty hard but the view from up there was nice. I thought the entrance was a bit expensive (6USD) for just being allowed to walk up. Anyhow, after having walked up and down almost 700 steps, we went to the malecon and rented a boat that took us to the lagoon for... More

My partner and I spent 3 days in Guatape, Very nice, we went for a boat tour on the laguna and saw the holiday "house" of Pablo Escobar. We went also climbing the big rock and enjoy walking in the very colorful street of guatape

We went on a day trip here. We all walked up the steps to the top of El Penol and the view was amazing. You can stop at multiple points on the way up. There is food and drinks available at the top as well. At the bottom is a small tourist area where you can purchase souveniers and such.... More

It's a long hike up the steps of ElPenon. It takes your breath away (literally) and metaphorically once you see Laguna de Guatape from the top. What a view it is!!!! Absolutely stunning! One of the most memorable views in all my travels. On the top, the owners built some really ugly structures to sell trinkets and drinks, but if... More
